Capacity expansion - now shorter process times for fire tests thanks to our new cone calorimeter
We have put another cone calorimeter into operation and can now achieve shorter process times for our customers. On the other hand, lengthy and complex special tests can now take place independently of regular and often time-critical measurements.
Cone calorimeter? The device is the most important laboratory measuring instrument for fire tests. With the cone calorimeter we determine the heat release using the oxygen consumption method on combustible materials. Important fire properties of the material are tested in various fire scenarios. This data can be used for fire simulations or for the normative evaluation of materials.
Typical test materials are, for example, seat structures and flexible metal/rubber components in and on rail vehicles, plastics for injection molding, all surface materials and all combustible materials that are required for simulating a fire.
These fire tests are relevant for the European and American rail vehicle market, for material manufacturers in the shipping sector and companies that deal with fire simulations.
