Did you know? Our fire laboratory tests rail vehicle products for the North American market according to ASTM and NFPA

Products that are to be exported to or placed in the North American market are subject to local laws and regulations. We support you with this.

We are accredited by DAkkS for 12 ASTM test methods. These include, for example, ASTM E162 (flame spread), ASTM E662 (smoke development) and many more. We test your rail vehicle products according to the requirements of NFPA 130 “Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems” – the American counterpart to the European rail vehicle standard EN 45545. NFPA is the National Fire Protection Association, it publishes more than 300 consensus codes and standards that are designed to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks.

Overview of our accredited ASTM test methods:

ASTM E1317 2019Standard Test Method for Flammability of Surface Finishes
